Week #3 of Fall Farm Share

Happy Fall! It has been gorgeous weather and we haven’t had a hard frost yet so the gardens are still growing! With the beauty and the abundance, this has to be our favorite time of year! I do think since the whispers of winter are right behind us, it makes us even more grateful for every warm day and the beauty of the changing seasons.

A friend of ours moved to North Dakota this past year and is super sad about missing our Pumpkin Festival so she did some sidewalk art at her new house in honor of our festival! Isn’t that amazing!?

What’s in the bags this week?

  • 5 lbs of russet potatoes

  • 2 different winter squash: The varieties are delicata, buttercup, acorn or sunshine kabocha. These were recently harvested. While they are yummy now, they will only get better with time. Winter squash flavor peaks at 3 months post harvest.

  • Beets

  • Carrots

  • Tomatoes

  • Peppers: A bag of mixed peppers. Mostly hot peppers. The long yellow ones are a mild banana pepper.

  • Eggplant

  • Cucumbers

  • Shallots: Here’s the 411 on Shallots: Click Here!

  • Onions: Red and the last of the summer Walla Walla Sweets

Here are the details of our annual Pumpkin Festival which kicks off on Saturday and runs until Sunday, October 23rd! It’s a fun time for all to enjoy the farm! We look forward to seeing you at the Pumpkin Patch!

Have a great week! Next week is the last pick up for the fall season!
